Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores and nine other mayors of Aklan were finally vaccinated by the first dose of Sinovac vaccine against the coronavirus yesterday morning, May 3.
Ibajay Mayor Joen Miraflores, President of the Mayor's League of Aklan, confirmed that several local chief executives of the Aklan provincial government were vaccinated by the first dose of Sinovac at the ABL Sports Complex, with the consent of the national government.
Among those who were vaccinated were Mayor Denny Refol of Altavas, Mayor Rodel Ramos of Batan, Lezo Mayor Lynette Fernandez, Libacao Mayor Charito Navarosa, Mayor Alfonso Gubatina of Madalag, Mayor Abencio Torres of Makato, Numancia Mayor Jeserel Templonuevo and Tangalan Mayor Gary Fuentes.
According to Miraflores, other mayors of Aklan chose to be vaccinated in their respective vaccination roll-out while some were already vaccinated, like Nabas Mayor James Solanoy.
Malinao Mayor Josephine Iquiña was also present yesterday, however, since she was feeling unwell, she wasn't inoculated, he added.
To fight against the deadly virus and to protect oneself from it, Miraflores encourages all Aklanons to be vaccinated.
