KALIBO, Aklan–Today marks the first vaccination roll for the A1 priority list of the national government in Kalibo.
Kalibo received 107 doses of Sinovac vaccines to inoculate the people included in the A1 priority list group at Pastrana Covered Court.
The A1 list of the national government composes of:
- Frontline workers in health facilities, both national and local, private and public,
- health professionals, and
- non-professionals like students, nursing aides, janitors, barangay health workers, etc.
Among those who were vaccinated were the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams, personnel of the MWSDO, and officials working at Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management.
Mayor Emerson Lachica and other government agencies of the Provincial Health Office were also present at the vaccination site.
Yesterday, three towns of Aklan finally had their first rollout of vaccines. Tangalan acquired 100 doses of the Sinovac vaccine, the same amount with New Washington, with Balete managing to inoculate 48 of its residents.
Those vaccinated mostly comprised barangay captains, officials on the Committee on Health, members of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs), employees under the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction, and other front-liners.
The vaccination sites took place at their respective barangay-covered courts.
In the following days, the government of Aklan expects more vaccines to arrive to inoculate the residents of Aklan.
