71 curfew violators in Boracay Island were caught and fined by the Malay PNP

On the first day of November, the police caught 71 individuals who violated the curfew in Boracay Island.

The 71 violators were ticketed, and authorities fined them P2,500 per individual.

According to the Malay Municipal Police Station data, from the 71 violators, 36 were caught at the PCP2-Balabag, 13 in PCP1-Manoc-Manoc, 12 at the PCP3-Yapak, and ten were seized by the Malay Headquarters.

Meanwhile, no one was caught violating the curfew in mainland Malay.

Last October 29, the local government of Malay eased the curfew hours in Boracay Island to 12 am until 4 am, while the curfew hours in mainland Malay remained at 9:00 pm until 4:00 am as pursuant to the directives of the Provincial Government of Aklan.

Besides the curfew hours, authorities strictly enforced those staying on the Island to properly wear face masks and observe all health protocols.

In this regard, the Malay PNP called on the public to abide by the ordinances so as not to be fined and to ensure the health and safety of all tourists, residents, and those working on the Island.
