BORACAY, Malay–The Municipal Mayor of Malay Frolibar Bautista issued a memo to conduct an investigation to a certain business establishment in Boracay that may have been contributed to the rising case of COVID-19 on the island.
The said establishment has been traced by the effort of the Municipal Health Office of Malay, this is according to Malay's new Chief PNP Police Major. Don Dicksie de Dios in an interview this morning with Jonathan "Idol" Cabrera of Radyo Todo.
An investigation to the establishment involved a possible violation of the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act the Republic act no. 11332. has been conducted said PMaj. de Dios.
PMaj. de Dios said that the establishment is a bar and restaurant which allegedly may have held a birthday party celebration, and invitations were sent. Though, the party was held separately in a certain area of the bar and restaurant on their normal operations.
As of now, the investigation is currently underway. PMaj. de Dios assured the public that even though there is no timeline to the case, a very thorough investigation will be conducted regarding the situation.
The case may revolve in search of any sort of violation of the republic act no. 11332 as well as the executive orders that the Local Government Unit of Malay was issued.
On the other hand, Barangay Balabag is currently in full lockdown while Zones 7 (Manggayad) and Zone 1 (Diniwid) are also under surgical lockdown. The PNP is formulating a plan to contain areas in Zone 4 as it was discovered that most of the recent positive cases of COVID-19 came from Zone 4 or the Manoc Manoc Area.
Though PMaj. de Dios clarified that only certain parts of the island are on lockdown and not the entire island itself.
The key is discipline to control, contain, and prevent the spread of the virus de Dios said and he called the attention of all Boracaynon to cooperate and follow the guidelines that have been set forth by the LGU and Inter-agency task force against covid19 to be able to succeed.
