Returning on Sept. 15 is the hotel sector's biggest online travel sale to boost the tourism industry that was greatly affected by the pandemic.
In a virtual presser, according to the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA), the September Online Sale or also known as SOS, will start from Sept. 15 until Oct. 15, 2021, with "bigger promotions and discounts," in at least 80 hotels nationwide.
On the official launch of the sale, visit the HSMA website and view the various hotel vacation and food & beverage package offers that are as much as 70% off.
The discounted packages will be in the form of an e-voucher once it's purchased. The e-voucher is also still usable in a year from the date of purchase and may be extended upon request.
HSMA even said that one of the hotels includes a package that allows guests to check-in at 6 am and check out the next day as late as 10 pm for the price of an overnight stay.
"From a 15-day event, we’ve planned a month-long travel mart. We are also including the ancillary services of the properties such as restaurants, bars, banquet packages, spa, gym and pool, and other facilities of the hotel, making this year’s campaign more thrilling and inviting," said Benjie Martinez, HSMA President and Area Director of Sales & Marketing for Bayleaf Hotels.

Staycation hotels in areas under general community quarantine may already waive testing requirements, except for minors and senior citizens.
They are still required to submit a negative RT-PCR. However, HSMA clarified that the decision would still depend on the local government unit where the establishment is.
The participating hotels will strictly impose health protocols and precautionary measures set by the government and the World Health Organization to assure the incoming tourists.
HSMA hopes this initiative could help promote safe domestic travel among Filipinos.
"It has to start from us, this domestic travel has to start from us, we have to show them from the hotel industry. There has to be a point wherein we have to open up," HSMA Director for Ways & Means Cristina Carreon said in the presser.
The SOS of the HSMA is presented in partnership with the DOT, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), Atlantis, and Isentia, with Cebu Pacific as the airline partner.
“We hope the SOS will be that spark to bring the hotel industry back to life,” Carmela Bocanegra, HSMA Director of Public Relations and Vice President for Sales, stated.
