Thanks to the long holidays, more than 113,000 tourists visited the shores of Boracay Island, reaching a pandemic-high record.
The Malay Tourism Office data showed that 113,596 tourists went on a vacation to the white beach for the whole month of December.
The figure is still lower compared to the pre-pandemic arrivals, but it is the highest number of tourists since January 2020, back when 167,070 travelers visited the Island, two months before people were halted from traveling due to the pandemic.
Tourists coming from the National Capital Region still lead the list with 49,185, it's 43% of the total arrivals.

More female travelers visited Boracay Island with 57,728
than male tourists with 55,868.
Visitors are also mostly ages 13-59 with 93,685, while 0-12 years old accounts for 16,280 and only 3,631 are ages 60 and up.
More tourists traveled by air than land or sea; 81,886 traveled by air, 3,132 by sea, and 28,578 by land.
