Hue Hotel Boracay Released an Official Statement after the Temporary Closure

BORACAY ISLAND, Malay, Aklan -- After the temporary closure order by the Aklan Provincial Government, Hue Hotel Boracay released today an Official Statement through their General Manager SHERYL CHAM, to shed some light and provide details on this matter.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF HUE HOTELS AND RESORT BORACAY

We are reaching out to you in connection with the post about one of our service associates on January 31, 2021. Please allow us to share additional details to shed more light and provide the proper context about the situation.

We confirm that one of our employees has tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing the RT-PCR required by the Malay LGU last January 26, 2021.  The employee is asymptomatic.

To ensure the health and safety of our employees and guests, the employee was  immediately relocated to a temporary facility in close coordination with the Municipal Health Office. Since then, the employee has been transferred to a quarantine facility in Kalibo. We are closely in touch with our employee to ensure that his needs and well-being are taken care of.

We would like to reassure our stakeholders that all necessary actions to mitigate the risk to our employees and guests were undertaken.

As soon as we were informed of this case, we did the necessary contact tracing and there were no guests identified as close contacts or considered high risk as confirmed by the Municipal Health Office.

There was one employee who was identified as a close contact. This same employee tested negative and was nonetheless advised to complete the 14-day quarantine.

We conducted enhanced cleaning and disinfection of all common areas, offices, bathrooms, and shared equipment, focusing on frequently touched objects and surfaces. This was done over and above the regular cleaning and disinfection procedures we undertake.

Please be assured that Hue Hotels & Resorts Boracay has stringent health and safety protocols in place which our employees and guests adhere to. All employees wear the appropriate PPE while on duty, undergo daily health screening checks, and follow social distancing guidelines.

Hue Hotels Boracay shall be closed for two (2) days starting from January 31 up to February 1, 2021 to conduct thorough and complete disinfection.

We remain committed to ensure the safety of all our guests and employees by adhering to the hotel’s health and safety protocols as well as the measures instituted by the LGU and DOT.
