Hue Hotel Boracay, Temporary Closure due to COVID-19

The Hue Hotel in Boracay was closed down by the Aklan Provincial Government due to their facilities not being in good condition for their employees who were tested positive for the COVID-19.

It's learned from a letter that was sent by the Aklan Provincial Administrator, Atty. Selwyn Ibarreta to the General Manager of Hue Hotel, Sherlyn Chan, that Hue Hotel earlier requested the Municipal Health Office of Malay that their employee be quarantined in their hotel facility.

But the surveillance team of the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit discovered that the said employee was only sent to the guard's barracks instead of to the hotel facility, which is not considered as a quarantine facility for a Covid-19 patient.

In this regard, the Provincial Task Force against Covid-19 transfer the patient to the Quarantine Facility in Kalibo Aklan.

And it was later found out that the Malay Municipal Officer Dr. Athena Magdamit recommended to the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cornelio Cuachon to get the patient due to its distressing situation.

Today, the Hue Hotel was closed for two days to undergo disinfection and to prevent the virus from spreading.
