More than 32,000 tourists flock to Boracay Island for the month of October

In the whole month of October, crowds of tourists came to visit the famous white sand beach as more than 32,000 flocks to Boracay Island.

According to the Malay Tourism Office data, a total of 32,452 visited the Island for the month of October.

The recent number of tourist arrivals almost reached the highest recorded number of visitors to Boracay since the pandemic, which was 35,108 last July.

As of October 24, 91.09% of all tourism workers and 62.78% of the eligible population of the Island are already inoculated.

Once Boracay Island reaches a 100% vaccination rate among its residents, Aklan Gov. Florencio Miraflores agreed to accept tourists with proof of full vaccination -- instead of a negative RT-PCR test result.

The data also shows that 16,377 male tourists visited Boracay Island, while there were 16,075 female travelers.

Meanwhile, in terms of age groups, ages 13-59 accounts for 29,305 of the total visitor arrivals to Boracay, while there were 2,420 who were ages 0-12 years old, and 727 tourists are ages 60 and up.

Most visitors also traveled by air than land or sea; 27,433 traveled by air, 559 by sea, and 4,460 by land.
