Negative RT-PCR Test still a requirement for travelers going to Boracay

BORACAY ISLAND, Malay, Aklan–According to an interview this morning with the Mayor of Malay, Frolibar Bautista, a negative RT-PCR test is still a requirement every tourist needs to travel to the Island of Boracay.

He said that a more in-depth discussion will be held between the Aklan Governor, Florencio Miraflores and the Inter-Agency Task Force regarding the ease of travel restriction to those wanting to go to Boracay.

In addition, Bautista said that as of now Boracay's number of visitors increased to more than 800 per day. With around 16, 487 tourists just this February, according to the records of the Malay Tourism Office.

Furthermore, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases recently, finally approved the uniform travel protocols. Easing the travel requirements tourists need to secure before traveling to any Province.

This also means that visitors are no longer required to undergo a COVID-19 test before traveling except for certain LGU's that still require a negative test result before entering their province.
