BORACAY, Malay–With the Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF) finally approving the saliva-based RT-PCR Test, travelers wanting to visit the Island of Boracay can now undergo the test at the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) lab at Passi City for the non-Aklanon tourist.
According to Cyril Lequillo, the Red Cross Administrator of Passi Laboratory. Tourists can now go to Passi City to have their RT-PCR tests before going to Boracay.
Moreover, the Passi lab can conduct and process the specimens up to 1,000 in just one day. And the result can also be acquired earlier should the traveler arrive before their cut-off time at 12 noon.
The Passi Laboratory is located at the back of the City hall at the New townsite at Brgy. Samblogon, Passi City.
To avail of a saliva RT-PCR Test, first register at https://c19.redcross.org.ph/public-ecif. Then save the e-CIF retrieval code. Though, a direct registration can also be done at the said Molecular Laboratory.
For payment, directly pay at the Philippine Red Cross Passi City Chapter Office. Keep in mind that the testing fee is worth Php2,000.00.
Afterward, you can now proceed to the Molecular Laboratory for your specimen collection (Direct Swabbing).
Your results will be released within 24 hours after receiving the specimen at the laboratory.
