Over 2,300 foreign tourists went to Boracay Island from April 1-to 16

Foreign tourist arrivals in Boracay Island are increasing as over 2,300 visited in just the first two weeks of April; the Island also welcomes more than 95,000 travelers.

According to the Malay Tourism Office data, 95,646 tourist arrivals were recorded, where 2,333 accounted for foreign tourists, 92,100 were domestic travelers, and 1,213 were Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) went to Boracay from April 1 to 16.

FOREIGN TOTAL: 2,333
DOMESTIC TOTAL: 92,100
OFW TOTAL: 1,213
Grand Total: 95,646

The increase in international travelers is due to the country further easing pandemic restrictions. Last April 1, the Philippines started accepting foreign tourists from any country. The United States makes up most international tourist arrivals with 603 travelers.

Thanks to the Holy Week break, more domestic tourists have flocked to the Island.

However, for April, the Malay Tourism Office did not specify which foreign country has the most tourists arrivals to Boracay Island, nor did it disclose the number of female and male travelers and the most used mode of transportation.

Nevertheless, increasing tourist arrivals to Boracay Island will speed up its full recovery.
