Based on the Malay Tourism Office (MTO) statistical record of visitor arrival in Boracay Island starting June 1-5, 2021, utilizing Caticlan as the port of entry, the residents from the NCR, leads Boracay tourists arrival.
A total of 2,185 domestic arrivals from June 1-5, and 1,382 came from NCR, Rizal (140), Cavite (135), Bulacan (88) and from Laguna (65) respectively.
1,959 of the tourist arrivals used air as their mode of transportation while 176 by land and some 50 came by sea.
Surprisingly, males dominates the visitor arrival with a total of 1,103 while females by 1,082. Most of the arriving tourists were from 13-59 age group.
Last Tuesday, June 1st, the Malay Tourism Office (MTO) announced in their official Facebook account, Boracay is now open for residents from NCR Plus regions from June 1 to 15, 2021, following the IATF resolution No.118A, allowing leisure travel to and from NCR+ areas to areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
