Good News! Fully vaccinated tourists coming from Panay Island and the Guimaras Province no longer need to present a negative RT-PCR test result when entering Boracay Island.
Effective October 26, 2021, travelers from Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo provinces, and the regional capital of Iloilo City may submit a VaxCertPH Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate instead of a negative RT-PCR test.
Boracay tourists can download the said certificate at https://vaxcert.doh.gov.ph.
According to the advisory from the Aklan Provincial Government, in case the vaccination certificate is unavailable, travelers must still present a negative RT-PCR test result with a validity of 72 hours from the day of extraction and other requirements.
Meanwhile, authorities don't require a VaxCert from kids if they're traveling with their families since they are not vaccinated yet.
Furthermore, the same advisory said that curfew hours decreased; from the previous curfew hours of 8:00 pm to 4:00 am, it is now from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am.
Earlier, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said RT-PCR testing would be waived for other fully vaccinated travelers once Boracay Island reaches a 100% vaccination rate among its residents, as agreed with Aklan Gov. Florencio Miraflores.
The DOT projected that the entire eligible population of the Island would be vaccinated within October.
