Tourist arrivals in Boracay Island continues to increase

As more tourists gain confidence in traveling and pandemic restrictions further eases, Boracay Island's tourist arrivals continue to increase.

For the whole month of April, Boracay saw over 186,000 travelers visiting its shores. According to the Malay Tourism Office data, from April 1 to 30, a total of 186,751 tourists went to the Island.

Of the total tourist arrivals, 179,075 were domestic travelers, 2,939 were Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and 4,737 were international travelers.

OFW/OF's TOTAL: 2,939
Grand Total:  186,751

However, for April, the Malay Tourism Office did not specify which foreign country has the most tourists arrivals to Boracay Island, nor did it disclose the number of female and male travelers and the most used mode of transportation.

With the continuous increase of tourists visiting Boracay Island, its recovery is definitely drawing near.

Meanwhile, during Holy Week, the Department of Tourism said the Island's carrying capacity was breached, which the provincial government of Aklan firmly denies and said they followed with the recommended 19,215 capacity at any given time.

Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores said for April, the average arrivals are less than 6,000 a day.
