Boracay island is now flocked by tourists from NCR Plus Regions (NCR, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal).
Malay Mayor Frolibar Bautista confirmed this from an interview by Jonathan "idol" Cabrera in his early morning radio program show, Todo Latigo.
The Malay Mayor gladly informed that airplanes started to land Thursday with passengers coming from NCR plus regions.
"We live with COVID-19 dapat lang na ipagpatuloy ang pagsunod sa mga minimum health standards para makadepensa sa sakit" - Mayor Baustista said.
(We live with COVID-19, and we should continue to follow the minimum health standards to protect everyone from getting infected.)
According to Mayor Bautista, to prevent COVID-19 from spreading with the island's opening to many tourists, the provincial validating team is checking and ensuring that every tourist must have a valid and negative RT-PCR test result.
Last Tuesday, the Malay Tourism Office (MTO) confirmed in their official Facebook account that residents from NCR-plus bubble regions are now allowed to enter Boracay island starting June 1 to June 15, 2021.
Boracay will continue accepting tourists from NCR-plus regions if their quarantine status turns to plain GCQ after June 15.
