BORACAY, Malay–Executive order No. 021 was issued by the Malay Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19 and its IMT today. Cases have been seen rising in Zones 5 and 6 of Barangay Balabag, the Local Government of Malay, and as recommended by its IATF, the two Zone is to be put under a Surgical Lockdown.
Rules under the Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ) will be implemented on the said locations. Also, the Surgical Lockdown may be prolonged depending on the situation of the cases of COVID-19 in the area.
Moreover, Quarantine Passes will be given to those livelihoods that are affected, and this will be presided over by the Barangay Balabag.
The closed borders of both Zone 5 and Zone 6 will be managed by the PNP Malay with the help of the PNP Maritime, Malay Auxiliary Police, Balabag Barangay Tanod, Philippine Navy, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, Beach Guards, and the LGU Securities.
According to Section 2, Number 12 of the Omnibus Guidelines of National IATF-EID, cargo vehicles inside the affected area will not be hindered. The main road will also remain open for the motorists passing through. Furthermore, the Omnibus Guidelines states that everyone should strictly follow the limitations and the rules under the Enhanced Community Quarantine.
People outside the affected area will no longer be permitted to enter the said Zones. Moreover, only the Authorized Personnel Outside of Residence (APOR) will be permitted to leave the premises of Zone 5 and 6.
Those found to be violating Executive Order no.021, will be punished by penalties in accordance with the Municipal Ordinance 412 of the Malay, as well as the Republic Act 11332.
The Municipal Health Office of the LGU Malay continues to work in contact tracing to determine all those who had close contact with the new cases.
Lastly, the Municipal Social Welfare and the Development Office of the LGU Malay will give additional aid to those affected by the Surgical Lockdown.
