Negros Occidental COVID-19 Cases rose up to 418 this weekend

Negros Occidental active cases of COVID-19 rose to 418 this weekend, according to the data of the Province Incident Management Team (PIMT).

Data released by the Province Incident Management Team (PIMT) showed a sudden surge of active cases of COVID-19 throughout the province. The cases rose to 418 just this weekend.

Negros Occidental has a total number of 7,556 confirmed positive cases. Recoveries stood at 6,911 and deaths at 227, according to the records of the PIMT as of April 3, 2021.

With the most active cases at San Carlos City with 78 positive cases, followed by Cadiz City with 56, La Carlota City at 43, Silay City with 28, and Bago City with 24 positive cases.

On the other hand, some provinces of Negros Occidental are COVID-free despite the sudden surge. Such Provinces include the towns of Candoni, Don Salvador Benedicto, Hinoba-an, La Castellana, Manapla, and Moises Padilla are clear of the COVID-19 virus.

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson announced to return the previous entry protocols for all travelers. The protocol insists on having travelers undergo the COVID-19 test swab upon their arrival. The order was issued last week as a response of the province to the increasing number of positive cases.

However, the new executive order does not cover the travelers coming from within the Western Visayas.  In regards to reimposing of entry protocols, said travelers are still free to enter and leave the province of Negros Occidental with minimum health requirements.
