Globe Telecom is set to boost its 4G LTE network this February on various tourist destinations.

Network sites in Boracay, Bacolod City, Cebu City, Davao City, and Cagayan de Oro will be upgraded to 4G LTE according to Globe on Wednesday. Recently, Iloilo City has been established to a 4G LTE site. In addition, by March, more locations in Cebu are expected to be ready for the 4G LTE upgrade.

“Our customers can look forward to faster, better and reliable service in these areas in the next few weeks due to our site upgrades," said Joel Agustin, Globe senior vice president for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

The telecommunication company continues to invest greatly in the fiber-optic network. This year, Globe has already planned a budget of P70 billion capital for an aggressive fiber connection rollout nationwide. Set on targeting 2,000 new cell towers upgrading to 4G LTE and 5G networks.

Furthermore, the company accomplished its goal. Nearly 80 percent of the Metro Manila upgraded to 5G network with 708 sites in already 17 cities.

The speed-up of the issuance of permits last year has enabled the telcos company to build more cellular towers, and Globe was able to built 10,395 towers.

Recently, there has been a surging amount of customers demand mobile internet services to which the Common Tower Policy took action. The improvement of network infrastructure for a faster internet speed enables customers to have access to better internet connectivity when working or learning at home.
