DOT launched their fourth online hybrid training program aims to raise the bar on Filipino Hospitality and Culinary

The Department of Tourism-National Capital Region(DOT-NCR) launched its fourth edition hybrid training program, Leadership Excellence Series (LES). Set to raise the bar of Filipino hospitality and also gathered the respect of culinary practitioners this March first.

The hybrid training program focuses more on the side of culinary tourism, heritage cuisine, and the best practices needed in working in the new normal. The event will be held via live simulcast Zoom from Casa Buenas in Resorts World Manila this March 1.

The LES is led by the following great chefs; chef Godfrey Laforteza, a resident chef of Casa Buenas,  chef Gabby Prats, one of six ASEAN master chefs in the Philippines; and chef JP Anglo, celebrity chef and of Master Chef Philippines. Nothing but the best to serve the DOT's signature training course called "Kulinarya"

This is the second in a three-part series of the 2021 hybrid online event. Its key importance is on elevating the customer service alongside the correct implementation of health protocols and at the same time emphasizing the Philippines brand of hospitality known to the world. The event was applauded with much praise for its online-learning forum on their hospitality, tourism, business practitioners, and travel stakeholders.

It follows a TED talk format that comes in event forms that is part of a collection of training courses, all offered by the DOT, including the tourism chief herself, Secretary Romulo-Puyat. The program seeks to retool, reskill, and reboot the tourism stakeholders and the tourism workers based on the new normal world.

“We expect it to be driven initially by domestic tourism, which also includes staycations and hybrid MICE events. With many establishments already up and running, we need to redefine the quality of service that tourism workers will provide.” Secretary Romulo-Puyat assured the tourism industry while answering the question "what are the ways we can satisfy the needs of today's tourists?.

Woodrow C. Maquiling, Jr., the DOT-NCR Regional Director said that "to believe in our [people] power to improve, adapt, and innovate to make 2021 our greatest story of success" is the LES 2021's vision.

The Leadership Excellence Series (LES) is a way for the DOT-NCR to help and support the industry that was greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, it is an online hybrid activity, open to the public, and is completely free-of-charge, where its main priority lies in the tourism industry enterprises, players, and the front-liners.

The event live-streamed across the DOT-NCR's digital assets @TourismMNL. It promised to improve the aspect of online learning as it integrates digital technology and full production.
