The Department of Tourism said that as of November 10, 2021, more than 70% of tourism workers are already fully vaccinated.

"Overall, in the Philippines, 70.5% ang fully vaccinated sa tourism workers," Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said in the CNN Philippines' The Source.

Puyat noted that back when Metro Manila was under Alert Level 4, the percentage of hotel employees who were fully vaccinated in the region reached 99%.

While the tourism workers in  Baguio, Davao Region, and San Vicente in Palawan have already reached a 100% vaccination rate, she added.

As for Boracay Island, Puyat said it'll reach its target eligible population in two weeks.

She also said that the number of fully vaccinated workers in the Mountain Province is at 95%, and 91% in Coron in Palawan, and 83% in Bohol.

However, Puyat also disclosed that there might be slight delays in the vaccination of workers in areas such as Siargao due to the limited number of health workers who need to undergo quarantine after getting exposed to COVID-19.

But, the agency continues to coordinate with them as the vaccine doses have already arrived there.

"In the other tourism sites, we have already delivered. Sec (Carlito) Galvez and Sec. (Vince) Dizon already delivered all the vaccines. It's now up to the LGUs to start vaccinating pero yung supply nasa kanila na, including yung 12-17 years old (the supply is already with them including the ones for the 12-17 years old)," Puyat noted.

Close to 30 million Filipinos are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of November 9. The government aims to increase its daily inoculation target from over 500,000 to 1.5 million later this month.
