Metro Manila — The local government identified a 24-year old male from Quezon City who falsified travel documents to enter Coron Palawan turned out to be positive of the coronavirus.
The tourist arrived in town on March 9, the Coron LGU said.
The following day, the Coron authorities were informed by the Quezon City Surveillance Team that the tourist tested positive for the virus and that he faked travel requirements.
The LGU said the man was immediately brought to an isolation facility and has already traced his contacts and made them undergo a COVID-19 test as well. His contacts were found to be negative.
Aside from the tourist from Quezon City, Coron only has one other active case — a returning Filipino.
The Coron local government still requires those entering the town to present a negative swab test result.
