Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte now accepts travelers from the National Capital Region (NCR), according to the General Luna municipal tourism officer, Arcelly Gallentes.
While Siargao is now open to tourists from NCR, parties and videoke are prohibited on the island, and a liquor ban is also in place, Gallentes said, based on the report by ABS-CBN News.
"Wala na pong party ngayon dito dahil mahigpit pong ipinagbabawal ito. Ang mga pulis po nagroronda po sila para ma-sure po na walang nagpa-party," he said.
(There are no more parties because it's strictly prohibited. Police officers also make rounds to ensure there are no parties.)
The local government also implemented a 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew.
The municipality of General Luna also announced on Monday that three barangays are under "micro-granular lockdown" from September 19 to 23.
Meanwhile, three barangays, Catangnan, Consuelo, and Poblacion, are "micro-granular lockdown" from September 19 to 23 due to a rising number of COVID-19 cases.
During the lockdown, non-residents and visitors to General Luna are not permitted to enter, "except for tourists with complete travel documents/requirements."
Non-essential mass gatherings and activities are also banned, including videoke bars, disco pubs, resto bars, parties, and other outdoor gatherings.
Here are the latest Siargao travel requirements (as of September 1):
