Authorities apprehend two violators of “One Entry, One Exit” Policy in Boracay

Personnel of the 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) intercepted and apprehended on August 10, 2024 two motorbanca violators of the “One Entry, One Exit” Policy in Sitio Bolabog, Barangay Balabag, Boracay, Malay .

The captains of the motorboats were promptly issued citation tickets for contravening Provincial Ordinance No. 05-32, which enforces the strict adherence to the policy.

The 2nd Aklan PMFC eventually took the violators into custody, while the motorbanca vessels were transferred to the Malay Municipal Police station for further processing. The rigorous enforcement of the ordinance highlights the concerted efforts of authorities to uphold regulations and maintain order in the island.

The Aklan Provincial Port Authority maintains that the “One Entry, One Exit” Policy, as outlined in the ordinance, designates Cagban Jetty Port as the sole entry and exit point on the island, linking it to the Caticlan Jetty Port on the mainland of Malay town. During habagat season, the Tabon port in the mainland and Tambisaan Port serve as alternate entry and exit points, ensuring streamlined and regulated maritime traffic to and from Boracay.

As authorities intensify their vigilance and enforcement measures to uphold the prescribed regulations, the interception of the two violators underscores the commitment to maintaining the integrity of the “One Entry, One Exit” Policy.

The decisive action taken serves as a deterrent to potential violators and reinforces the importance of compliance with local ordinances for the sustainable and orderly governance of Boracay.
