ILOILO CITY, PHILIPPINES – From June 16 to 18, the Central Philippines Tourism Expo (CPTEx) 2023 took center stage at the Iloilo Convention Center. The three-day event served as a vibrant marketplace for tourism products and services from across the Central Philippines Regions including CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol, and the Western, Central, and Eastern Visayas.

Among the active participants were the Boracay Island Travel Agency and Tour Operators Association (BITATOA) and the Boracay Picnic Activities Association (BPAA), who brought the island’s many tourism wonders to the expo. Their booths were filled with exciting travel packages, breathtaking tours, and unforgettable activities, attracting a significant crowd of travel enthusiasts and industry professionals.

On the second day of the expo, the Municipal Mayor of Malay, Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista, attended the event. He showed his support for the Boracay Tourism Associations, specifically BITATOA headed by Ms. Claribel Casimero and BPAA headed by Mr. Reynaldo Plemones. Alongside them was the Municipal Tourism Office, under the supervision of Mr. Felix Delos Santos Jr., showcasing the extensive tourism opportunities Boracay Island offers.

Crisanta Marlene Rodriguez, the Regional Director of DOT-VI, also made her appearance at the Boracay booth, exchanging insightful dialogues with the Municipal Mayor and the Chief Tourism Operations Officer. This reaffirmed the importance of the event in promoting the regional tourism industry and strengthening relationships between key stakeholders.

As the third day unfolded, the Malay delegation, including Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member, Hon. Jupiter Aelred Gallenero, continued to provide their unwavering support. Over the course of the event, exhibitors diligently showcased Malay’s unique attractions, cultural heritage, and enticing opportunities to tourists and professionals alike.

The final day concluded with a flurry of marketing activities, discussions, and partnerships, setting the stage for the Malay delegation to boost their marketing strategies and foster connections with potential stakeholders. The CPTEx 2023 allowed the delegation to increase awareness about Malay’s remarkable tourism offerings, strengthening the island’s place on the regional tourism map.

As the curtains closed on this year’s expo, the efforts and accomplishments of the Malay delegation were commended, marking the end of an extraordinary event that has opened up a new chapter in the tourism industry of the Central Philippines.
