Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc. and the Coca-Cola Foundation Inc. have made a significant commitment to the environmental sustainability of Boracay Island by donating a surf rake and tractor to enhance waste management efforts.
The formal turnover ceremony took place on September 11th, 2024, at the iconic Willy’s Rock Beach in Balabag, Malay, Aklan, with key leaders from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malay present to celebrate this important partnership.
Municipal Mayor Hon. Frolibar Sacapaño Bautista, Vice Mayor Hon. Niño Cawaling, and SB Member Hon. Dalidig Yap Sumdad led the initiative, emphasizing the LGU’s dedication to preserving the island’s pristine environment.
Representing Coca-Cola, Atty. Jorenz Tanada and Atty. Dianne Patawaran formalized the donation through the signing and acceptance of the Deed of Donation, underscoring the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
The donation of a surf rake and tractor is a crucial step in strengthening Boracay’s waste management capabilities, ensuring its world-famous beaches remain clean and pristine.
Mayor Bautista highlighted the significance of the donation, calling it a “key investment in the island’s future.”
