Boracay gears up for cruise ship boom, expecting over 23 arrivals in 2025

Boracay is set to welcome a surge in international tourism with the arrival of over 23 cruise ships by 2025. This follows the announcement of four upcoming cruise ship visits before the year’s end, according to Nieven Maquirang, Port Cruise Ships Operations.

The first arrival is expected on November 6th with the MS Noordam, carrying approximately 2,000 passengers. Following closely behind, the MS Norweigan is scheduled to make three visits in December, on the 6th, 15th, and 28th, each bringing over 2,000 passengers.

Maquirang further revealed that 2025 is anticipated to see a significant increase in cruise ship arrivals, with over 23 confirmed to dock in Boracay, including five scheduled for January alone.

These visits are expected to significantly boost Boracay’s international profile, exposing the island to a wider global audience and potentially driving a surge in foreign arrivals. The influx of cruise ship passengers is seen as a major contributor to the island’s economic growth and tourism development.
