The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has awarded Barangay Caticlan the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) for 2024.
Caticlan is one of only six barangays in Aklan to receive this award, and the only one from Malay. More than 4, 000 barangays in Western Visayas were assessed for 2024.
The SGLGB is a program by the DILG that recognizes barangays for their governance performance with the aim of improving local services by encouraging barangays to continuously improve.
The award is conferred to barangays that demonstrate excellence in various areas, including safety and security, financial management, disaster preparedness, social protection, business-friendliness, and environmental management.
