History-making Filipino girl group BINI paid a courtesy visit to the Senate on Wednesday to receive official recognition for being the first Filipino act to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The eight-member ensemble also led a cheerful birthday serenade for Senator Bam Aquino, whose birthday falls on Thursday, with the lawmaker seen playfully dancing along during the performance.

‎During the plenary session, the Senate formally adopted Resolution No. 370, sponsored by Aquino, to commend the group’s landmark appearances on April 10 and 17, 2026. In his sponsorship speech, Aquino stated:

‎Aquino noted that the achievement carries broader significance amid prevailing national challenges, highlighting how the group integrated local identity into their craft:

‎He emphasized that the milestone serves as motivation for the youth and underscores the economic potential of the country’s creative sector:

‎Aquino also shared a personal observation, disclosing that his daughters are among the group’s growing supporter base:

‎Composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena, BINI is recognized in media and industry circles as a history-making, record-breaking, and multi-awarded P-Pop act known for synchronized performances, strong vocals, and promotion of Filipino artistry. Aquino, meanwhile, has long advocated for local talent, having supported creative industries in past campaigns and national events.
