Malacañang Declares Work Suspension on September 23 for “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day

Malacañang Palace has declared a work suspension for government offices in the Executive branch starting 3:00 PM on Monday, September 23, 2024, in observance of “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day, which marks the 32nd National Family Week.

The suspension, announced in Memorandum Circular No. 64 issued by the Office of the President, aims to encourage government employees to spend quality time with their families.

This annual observance, anchored on Proclamation No. 60, series of 1992, designates the fourth Monday of September each year for this special day. While government offices will be closed, essential services such as healthcare and disaster response will continue to operate.

The Provincial Government of Aklan and the Malay local government unit have yet to issue a memorandum regarding the work suspension for their respective offices.

This provides a unique opportunity for Boracaynons to embrace the spirit of the day. With the island known for its vibrant community spirit, this “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day is a chance to reconnect with loved ones, enjoy a leisurely meal, and savor the beauty of Boracay Island.

Take this opportunity to create lasting memories with family and friends, reconnect with the island’s natural wonders, and embrace the joy of shared moments.
